sorry dudes, it wasn´t bragging at all…
Are we listening to the same here? Because some people are confusing some things here… It has nothing to do with his depression, his drugs- or alcohol abuse peepz…
this man really was the greatest bass player…..
The dude was a manically depressed, too!
this was also at a time when nobody paid attention to the bass. Jaco’s arrogance brought attention to his genius and he was also the first to recognize those players he was influenced by. jaco was a right originator.
get a grip mate! he was only being honest like he used to say `It aint bragging if you can back it up` he backed it up!
ultimabass,
Amen to CaptainObvius77 remark.
He was the greatest electric bass player.
Yeah-obviouvsly so!
But he changed from an anti-alcoholic-person to an alcohol / drug-addicted-person in a small period of time !
He was out of his his mind in his last years and had no proper medical/psychiatory advisory !!!
Very Sad !!!
Don’t forget he also said “It ain’t braggin’ if you can back it up”
yes. ok.
What’s the solo at 0:41 called? He plays it in alot of his tracks in “Honestly”.
I certainly agree that Jaco was one of the best bassists in the world, but I lost respect for him when I found out he said “…I am the greatest electric bass player in the world”. Pure arrogance…
Yeah, I have this one
.
Peace
Really unique. A jazz God.
